In this talk participants will learn exactly what Juneteenth is, the history behind it, the overall impact, and why we are/should be recognizing it throughout the year, let alone Black History Month, or in June. | BOOK IT >
What better way to celebrate black culture and inclusion in the workplace than with food? Join Chef Nezaa from her kitchen in Detroit. She'‘ll introduce you to the delicious world of plant-focused cooking, guiding you step by step to make a pot of Chipotle Black Bean Chili. Starting with a Caribbean-style sofrito—some onion, green pepper, and celery magic—you’ll then layer spice after spice, vegetable after vegetable, until you’ve coaxed a deeply flavorful chili to life. A few days before your event, we’ll send you a beautiful box of premium ingredients—premeasured!—along with Chef Nezaa’s recipes!
The evidence is clear -- diverse workplaces do better. Companies often focus on getting people in the door, but an imperative component to the diversity equation is building an inclusive culture that inspires people to stay and truly feel like they belong. This session aims to provide you with basic insights into why underrepresented groups may feel excluded in the workplace; describe the psychological implications of workplace exclusion; and identify practical, behavioral steps you and your company can take to foster an inclusive environment. | BOOK IT >
The definition of insanity is, doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. In order to create "Room for Everyone," we must stop the continuous judgment. Moving yourself into question and possibility will allow you to obtain personal peace and healthier relations with those around you. In this workshop, you will learn how to be more present, how to have strategic awareness, and how to be courageously kind. Doing so will not only empower the unique races and sexes in your workspace with the 'room' they need but also help them to value what colleagues bring to the table are different than you. | BOOK IT >
Unlike other online diversity training, this course introduces the concepts that you can utilize in your life immediately. Regardless of your identity and lived experiences, the concept of how we coexist, interact, and impact one another is imperative to build better teams, better connections, and deeper relationships. You will reflect on how you fit into the conversation of diversity. Coming to terms with your own unique positive and negative bias as well as how that intersects with your responsibility of perception and sense of entitlement to validation is the foundation of social justice work. Your experiences, choices, and impact, both intentional and unintentional, matter. This is the starting place. | BOOK IT >
